CMMS
Registration is now open for Season 2 sports. Practice for Coed Wrestling and tryouts for Girls Varsity and JV Basketball starts Monday, November 6th. Girls Intramural Basketball does not require a tryout and will begin later in November. Registration closes on October 31st for these sports.
As required by state law, we will be screening 7th grade students at CMMS on Monday, October 9th. If your child wears glasses and\or contacts, please be sure they have their corrective lenses at school that day. To waive the screening, schools need to have a report or form signed by a licensed eye care professional indicating that an examination has been administered.
CMMS is hosting our first ever home Cross Country (XC) Meet on campus next Thursday, 10/5th! Please read the follow message if you have a student athlete participating and/or you will be a spectator for this event.
We would like to let parents and caregivers know they will be receiving a survey from their student’s teachers in early October. The survey is simply a family survey so that teachers can learn more about our students’ strengths and challenges and also how we might support them best at CMMS.
Tuesday, 10/31: Character Day! Character Day is a spirit day where students and staff dress up as their favorite character from a book, tv show, or movie! We want our spirit days to be a positive and enjoyable extension to our school days. Let’s show our school spirit, Falcons!
District
Parent-teacher conferences at the elementary level are designed to support a focused and meaningful dialogue between teachers and parents/guardians. We will offer parent-teacher conferences on November 8 or 9; the registration for conferences opened on October 3.
As a test of our emergency text message system, we will send a text message to all families and staff members who are currently opted in to receive text messages from the district. The test message will go out at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 5 via SMS.
We are excited to be launching a Middle School Athletics Task Force. This task force is charged with evaluating our current middle school athletics program with the goal of increasing access, equity, and opportunity. Applications are due no later than 5 p.m. on October 11.
Families of elementary students are invited to an information session about the district's adjustment to a semester schedule at the elementary level. The information session will be virtual only, and will be offered from 6-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17 via Zoom.
The Family Partnership team will host an informational session on October 11 to provide tips for parents/guardians on how to make the most of parent-teacher conferences. The virtual meeting will be held on October 11 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. via Zoom.
