Important Reminder from the School Nurse - After School Activities/Track & Field

health and wellness

If your child has a life-threatening health condition (such as severe allergies, asthma, or diabetes) and needs medication like an EpiPen, inhaler, or insulin—or special dietary supplies—they must carry these with them during after-school activities. Coaches should also know where the medication is located. Medications kept at school are not accessible to coaches because teams travel to meets and games away from CMMS and the school office may be closed for the day and medication will be locked in the health room.

Coaches will receive a copy of your child’s Health Care Plan and/or Medication Form. Please make sure your child has their necessary medications or supplies in their backpack and ready to use if needed.

If you would like to send an extra medication for the coach to keep and return to the student after the sports season has ended, you may also do this.
