Health Room / Nurse
School nursing, a specialized practice of nursing, protects and promotes student health, facilitates optimal development, and advances academic success. School nurses, grounded in ethical and evidence-based practice, are the leaders who bridge health care and education, provide care coordination, advocate for quality student-centered care, and collaborate to design systems that allow individuals and communities to develop their full potential.

EpiPens and Inhalers for After-School Activities
If your child has an EpiPen or inhaler and they participate in any after-school activity (such as sports or clubs), they are required to carry their medicine with them. They cannot rely on the EpiPen or inhaler stored in the Health Room. This is because some students travel to away meets and the office closes before sports end.
We provide sports coaches with a copy of your child’s Health Care Plan and/or Medication Form. Please be sure your child has the medication in their backpack and accessible during the time they are participating.

- It clarifies conditional status in regards to school and child care immunization requirements and implementation.
- It changes the Tdap immunization requirement to 7th through 12th grades.
